When those three words are written in the same sentence, I don't think there is anything else that comes to mind other than FC Barcelona. Just watch this:
Astonishing, wonderful, classy...
Of course, the greatness of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez is out of this world... but, what makes Barça so incredible is real teamwork. In fact, it's the 12th guy on the pitch when Barça is playing. And, just note how genuinely thrilled they are when one of them completes a play with a goal, just because they all work hard to get the ball to the right guy and create space for that guy to make the goal - for the team (okay, that's the most non-technical I could get, people). Meaning, you can't be selfish or a "crab" when you're playing football - if you want to win, that is!
This is why, I really think that any organization that wants "winning" to be a part of its plan equation should get its leaders to watch football, more specifically, Barça's football - Pep Guardiola's Barça, that is. And, I suspect that great managers, leaders and strategists are football fans! :) Okay, maybe team sports fans... although the football fans are head and shoulders above the rest, of course! :) Those "managers", "leaders" and "strategists" (or people who fetch the salary of managers, leaders and strategists... and that's all!) who do not appreciate the beautiful game probably do not even have an idea what managing, leading and drawing strategy are all about. :) And if they wanted proof, maybe they should have a look at where their organization stands, and the level of happiness (okay, maybe, that's too much to aim for... so, let's just say, "satisfaction") of the people they "lead". =)
If you're somebody I know and you're reading this, yes, that's what I'm talking about - no mistake! And, yeah, I'm having fun - "shooting mini goals", and helping "create plays" for others to make big goals... in this "little and obscure world" (a.k.a. "lab") - where I belong! Nevermind that "big but chaotic" world where people cannot distinguish between a playmaker and a striker or a defender... in their very own team - too pathetic, too boring! ;)
