Saturday photo
Two of my dearest friends in Ithaca, NY are halves of the same "100% Pinoy-at-heart" couple, even when half of their lives have already been spent in the US... and in one of the loveliest places in the US, too! While that's one of the reasons why I am happily drawn to them, it's not the biggest reason. I love them for being so full of love... for each other, for God, and for everyone around them. And the photo above is one of the testaments of their affection for each other, that makes one wants to fall in love, too.
I last visited them summer of 2010, and I took the photo above with my little point-and-shoot. It's a little strip of garden plot - one of the husband's favorite "projects" in their backyard. I asked him why and he said, "because it's for her. I never promised her a rose garden... but she could have flowers all year round - with this." It baffled me, of course, because come winter time, that plot - as a matter of fact, the whole backyard - will be mostly covered with snow. But paying attention to his picture frames inside their home, I realized he'd taken so many photos of the flowers in the plot and in their front garden, framed them and hung them on their walls... and come winter time, when he couldn't cut flowers from the garden to put in her vase, she has the photos of the flowers to remind her of his intention to keep his non-promise.
I know what you're thinking... I'm still hung over from the "My Binondo Girl" kilig-to-the-bones episodes from this week. You know... you're probably right! =) And, I do miss my dear friends, too. *sigh*
